Oscoda County Department of Veterans Affairs is operating at its new building, located at 205 E. 11th Street, Mio, in the block immediately behind the county government building. The new phone number is 989-826-9500. The office opens weekdays at 9 a.m. It closes at 12 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday. Thursdays it is open until 4 p.m.

Remembering Otis Wellington Henry
Mio Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4126 was established June 10, 1945. It was named for Otis Wellington Henry of Mio.
“He wasn’t even on the [ship] a month when Pearl Harbor was attacked,” VFW Commander Roger Stitt said.
