The Oscoda County Veterans Affairs hosted a recognition ceremony to honor four young men for their commitment to serve in the U.S. Military.
Oscoda County Veterans Affairs invites the community to a Memorial Day ceremony Monday, May 26 at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, 205 E. 11th Street in Mio. The program includes presentation of the colors and tributes to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
Girl Scout Troop #8845 was honored to help place flags on veteran’s graves at Luzerne Cemetery in preparation of Memorial Day. A couple of our Scouts were able to place flags on their grandfathers’ graves. The troop was taught how to set the flags properly and also how to dispose of the old flags.
