On March 5, 2025, at approximately 1:25 p.m., the Oscoda County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported explosion and structure fire in Comins Township.
Bolts win district championship
Oscoda County varsity boys basketball teams from Fairview Area Schools and Mio AuSable School traveled to Au Gres Feb. 28 to face each other in the district final. Mio Thunderbolts defeated the Eagles 46-25. Mio’s coach Ty McGregor commented on the win.
Fairview Area Schools presents Festival Concert March 5
Middle and high school students in Fairview will present their Festival Concert, one hour of musical entertainment beginning at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5.
Eagles snatch win from Tigers
Fairview Area Schools celebrated homecoming Feb. 7. During the school day, students competed against each other. The seniors took the top spot in mock Olympics and the freshman class placed first in the lip sync competition.
It’s a dog day
Elk Country Animal Shelter and Dr. Jordan Guy sponsored a vaccine clinic for dogs Jan. 18 in Fairview and Mio. Oscoda County residents brought their dogs to get their shots and renew licenses.
