Jan. 24 – The first session of Grief Share, ‘Your Journey from Mourning to Joy,’ begins at The Bridge in Fairview, 1554 N. Abbe Rd. Sessions will be held every Wednesday evening, 7-8:30 p.m. for 13 weeks. For more information, contact Lowell Eastman, 989-848-2953.

Jan. 25 – Together We Can food distribution, Oscoda County Fairgrounds, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. or until food is gone. Oscoda County residents must show proof of residency. Food is from the Food Bank of Eastern MI, Flint, with help from local sponsors. Check Facebook for more possible dates. Scheduled dates are always subject to change.

Jan. 26 & Feb. 2 – Ladies Bible Study of the book of Acts, using a book by David Jeremiah, meeting every Friday, 9-11 a.m. through the winter at The Bridge, 1554 N. Abbe, Fairview. All women are welcome.

Jan. 26 – The Clothing Closet is open second and fourth Fridays, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Mission House of Comins Community Church, 4263 W. First Street, at the west end of the church parking lot. Free quality clothes and shoes for men and women. Visit otherwise by appointment: call 989-

Jan. 27 – Centershot Archery, every Saturday through Mar. 9, from 10-11:30 a.m. at TriPoint Church of God, 831 W. Miller Rd. (Co. Rd. 608), Mio. Youth ages 7-18 are invited to learn or practice archery skills. Equipment provided. Pre-registration not required.

Jan. 29 – Game Night at Fairview Mennonite Church in Fairview, 6-9 p.m. All ages welcome.

Feb. 2 and 16 – Community Food Pantry at TriPoint Church of God, 831 W. Miller Rd. (Co. Rd. 608), Mio. Call Love INC at 848-2020 to register for an appointment. Friendly volunteers assist with shopping experience. Free lunch!

Feb. 10 – Ladies Café, 9 a.m. Breakfast and devotional at Comins Community Church, held every second Saturday.

Feb. 15 – Soup Suppers: free soup, bread and dessert served the third Thursday of every month, 5-6:30 p.m. at New Hope Assembly of God, across from Family Dollar in Mio.

Feb. 17 – Iron Men’s Breakfast and devotional at Comins Community Church, 7:30 a.m. for all men and boys, held every third Saturday.

Feb. 17 – Fitness Class, 3 p.m. at TriPoint Church of God, 831 W. Miller Rd. (Co. Rd. 608), Mio. Everyone is welcome to this new class, regardless of age, health or fitness level. Coaches Josh & Amara Younk lead the class with 18 years combined fitness coaching experience.

Feb. 20 – Love-ly Basket flower arranging class! 5:30-6:30 p.m. Cost is $15. Register with Love INC by Feb 15. Call 989-848-2020 or visit ReCreations Shoppe Thursday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The class is held at The Bridge, 1554 N. Abbe Road, Fairview.

The Bridge, a community meeting place, is a new ministry of Love INC Partner Churches, offering fun, educational life skills classes for all ages; support groups; fellowship groups; activities for children, and special community events. Monday

Chicken à la King over rice, peas & carrots, bread sticks, applesauce

Tuesday

Country fried steak, potatoes with country gravy, peas, cornbread, pears

Wednesday

Lasagna, broccoli, garlic toast, bananas

Thursday

Pork tenderloin, cheesy hash brown potatoes, pork gravy, corn, rolls, strawberry dump cake

Friday

Chicken bacon ranch wrap, cheesy tots, peas, pears

Lunch starts at 11:45 a.m. at the Oscoda County Council on Aging Senior Center in Mio. All meals are served with milk. The menu subject to change. A $3 donation is suggested for seniors 60 and over. Cost is $6.50 for those under 60.

Soup and Bread, a fundraiser for the Senior Center, is available most days as a to-go option. Soup is $6 for 32 oz. There are usually two choices, but sometimes only one, especially on Fridays. A small round loaf of bread is $1.50.

OCCOA is also having a Homemade Pie fundraiser. Crème pies are $11. Choose chocolate, banana, lemon, peanut butter or coconut. Pumpkin or Dutch apple pies are $12 each. Place your order by Wednesday to be picked up on Friday by 1 p.m. Place your order on the Oscoda County Council On Aging Facebook page or call 989-826-3025.
