Forest Lake wildfire origin remains under investigation
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division is investigating the wildfire that burned more than 35 acres and destroyed personal property valuing over an estimated $500,000 in the Forest Lake area of northern Arenac County Sunday, April 13.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is reminding residents to watch out for common post-storm scams as communities across Michigan continue cleanup and repairs following severe weather. Over the weekend, severe thunderstorms and high winds swept across the Lower Peninsula, while parts of Northern Michigan were hit with an ice storm.
