The Oscoda County Sheriff’s Office announced over the weekend the death of Tri-Town Firefighter Corey Newton of Mio, a dedicated public servant and respected member of the area’s emergency services family.
Veteran Phil Wideman, of Mio, received a Quilt of Valor from Old Jail Quilters. Wideman was nominated by one of his father’s hospice nurses, who is from Big Rapids.
