Oscoda County Council on Aging makes important schedule changes

Dear Oscoda County Council on Aging participants,

Due to the severity of our current situation the Board and staff of the Council on Aging have made the following changes in services to protect your well being:

Congregate meals and all activities at the center are canceled until April 6.

Meals on Wheels will be delivered every Wednesday for the entire week. The drivers will knock loudly on the door, wait for an answer and leave the meals for you to pick up. This ensures as little physical contact as possible.

Homemaking services are canceled.

Respite services are canceled.

Personal care services will continue with precaution.

The staff will be making telephone reassurance calls to check on all seniors on our services.

It is very important that you answer the phone during the scheduled call time.

If you do not answer we will assume you are in danger and we will request a wellness check from the police. This is for your safety. Please help us help you.

Someone will be at the center on-and off to check messages and return calls. You may leave a message if you need something.

Our goal is to make sure all the vulnerable seniors stay safe, and to encourage everyone to stay isolated in their homes as much as possible until this situation is over.

Please bear with us at this difficult time, and thank you for your patience.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me by leaving a message at 989-826-3025.
