Posted

MIO — The 28th annual Mio Pond Fishing Tournament hosted by the Mio Masonic Lodge drew 48 anglers to the shores of the Au Sable River June 25-26.

In 24 hours, participants reeled in more than 35 legal catches.

Clint Ifland of Peotone, Ill., was named the tournament’s overall winner with a 19 1/2-inch walleye — the largest in the competition — a 15 3/4-inch bass and 29-inch pike.

Gary Wyckoff claimed the largest pike — 33 3/4 inches — while Spencer Genow reeled in the largest bass — 18 inches.

Ifland, Dan Kozlowski and John Allen also brought in the first walleye, bass and pike, respectively.

All who participated in the event went home with a prize.
