Mio AuSable offering orientation to prospective kindergarten students

Meant to help smooth transition into formal education

MIO — Prospective kindergarten students at Mio AuSable schools will have a chance to get a taste of what the school year has in store for them Aug. 13.

Kindergarten teacher Judy Eurich said the school will be hosting an orientation and introduction to the school facilities and staff to help ease the transition into a more traditional school environment.

Parents who want their children to participate are asked to bring their kids to the Mio branch of the Oscoda County Library system Aug. 13 at 9 a.m. Students will take their first school bus ride, take a tour of the school and get to meet their future teacher.

The event will end at 11 a.m. when parents are expected to pick up their children from the school. For more information, contact Mio AuSable schools office at 989-826-2430 and ask for Superintendent Paul Ciske.
