Inaugural Crazy Costume Party to raise funds for Lydia’s Gate

MIO — Lydia’s Gate is putting on a new event this year, its Crazy Costume Party at the Mio Moose Lodge Friday, Oct. 25, providing some Halloween fun for adults while raising funds for the shelter.

“It seems like there’s a lot of (Halloween) events for young kids, and we thought it’d be fun to have something for the adults,” board Vice President Martha Larrison said.

The event will include a dinner, followed by dancing. A DJ will be present, and there will be a cash bar.

Larrison said there will be prizes for the best costumes, in categories such as most original, scariest, best couple and funniest.

The event, which runs from 6-11 p.m., is $20 a person and $35 a couple. All proceeds go to Lydia’s Gate.

If there is a good turnout this year, Larrison said she would like to make this an annual event.
