A Season to Remember

Posted by

T'was the last game of the season, on a cold windy day

the Lions were playing, their foe was Green Bay

The Packers this season were only so-so,

But the Lions were perfect, losing fifteen in a row.

The coaches screamed "VICTORY", we CAN'T lose this game!

We don't want that record to stink up our name.

The Lions played hard on that Sunday so cold,

they blocked and they tackled, they tried not to fold.

But the clock had run out and the results were the same,

the sad sack Lions had again lost the game.

The record is theirs, they stand all alone

sixteen in a row, now written in stone

And back in Detroit, a loud cry you could hear,

As Bill Ford exclaimed "JUST WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR!"
