53rd annual Northern Michigan Relief Sale brings crowds to fairgrounds

The Northern Michigan Relief Sale took over the Oscoda County Fairgrounds Aug. 2-3, filling the exhibit buildings with vendors and the bleachers with eager bidders. The event includes silent and live auctions, a gospel concert, bean soup supper, garage sale, a large book sale and much more. The yearly highlight of the event is Saturday’s quilt auction, and as usual bids often climbed into the hundreds of dollars this year. The money raised during the event goes to the Mennonite Central Committee, which uses it for worldwide relief efforts.
