Youth Squirrel Hunt update – Free entry!Free Access

The One-Day Youth Squirrel Hunt Saturday, Feb. 26 just got better.

“In honor of the tenth annual Luzerne Predator Roundup, there will be no charge for the youth squirrel hunt event,” organizer Marlene Kaminski said. “They still have to register, but there’s no charge. The Predator Roundup is footing the bill.”

The hunt is open to youngsters 15 years old and younger. They can bring in up to five squirrels, per DNR rules. For each squirrel they bring in, the hunters get a chance in the drawing for the first place prize.

“We’re still giving out the $5 per squirrel.” Kaminski said. “There is still a pellet gun for first place and a prize for a trifecta — three different varieties of squirrels.”

Hunters can sign up ahead of time and hunt on Saturday, Feb. 26. They must check in by 5 p.m. at Luzerne Hardware with up to five squirrels harvested that day.

The One-Day Youth Squirrel Hunt  is sponsored by the Luzerne Area Predator Round-up and Luzerne District Chamber of Commerce. For more information, or to enter, call or stop by Luzerne Hardware, 989-826-8050.
