Peggy Anne Bailey

Died March 2, 2021

Peggy Anne Bailey, a life-long resident of Clawson but most recently of Greenwood Township, peacefully passed away on March 2, 2021 at the age of 78.

Peggy was born on June 12, 1942 to her parents Lyall and Betty (Clarke) Chester. In 1960, she graduated from Clawson High School and went on to attend Oakland Community College, earning an associate degree in Graphic Arts.

Her life’s work was devoted to working for Ameritech, retiring in 2001. Throughout her life, Peggy really loved to garden, enjoyed woodcarving as she crafted many wood walking sticks, and possessed an artistic talent, putting her degree in Graphic Arts to good use. In addition to her many talents, Peggy was a devoted Clawson Eagles member and a part of the Clawson Golf League.

At Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, on November 11, 1961, Peggy married the love of her life Charles Bailey, having three children together, Pamela, Charles and Paula.

Peggy has left many loved ones behind to mourn her passing including her husband, Charles; her daughters, Pamela (David) Ring and Paula Bailey; her grandchildren, Charles (Ayianna) Ring, Daniel Ring and Erin Ring; and her great-granddaughter still on the way.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lyall and Betty Chester; her son, Charles Frederick Bailey; and her brother, Gerald Chester.

From 4 p.m.-8 p.m., a visitation will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Gramer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main Street, Clawson, MI 48017.

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 749 W 14 Mile Rd, Clawson, MI 48017. Instate at 10 a.m.
