Relief sale raises funds for those in need

The 51st annual Northern Michigan Relief Sale was held Aug. 4-5 at the Oscoda County Fairgrounds. A large crowd of people enjoyed many booths and activities such as auctions, garage sales, concerts, food, relief sale run and more. The two-day event was overseen by the Mennonite Central Committee, which disperses the funds raised to ongoing relief projects such as assistance to hurricane survivors in Haiti, providing fresh resources to areas without clean drinking water, and to refugees from Syria, Ukraine, Turkey and Iraq, according to relief sale Director Carl Dube.
