Brenda K. (Stothers) Weaver, 58, of Farwell passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at the MidMichigan Medical Center of Midland.

Brenda was born the daughter of John and Darlene (Wheeler) Stothers in Wayne on Sept. 29, 1958. Shortly after Brenda moved to the Central Michigan area in the mid ’80s, she met her husband Basil “Michael” Weaver, and they were united in marriage Sept. 17, 2001. Brenda was a “people person,” and many will remember her bubbly personality and smiling face from her years of service at the Birchwood restaurant of Farwell and Big Al’s restaurant of Lake. She had a long list of passions that included trips to the casino, keeping her house tidy, enjoying the Christmas and holiday season and taking short rides, especially if they happened upon a yard sale. Brenda was happiest either spending time with family and friends or planting flowers in her garden.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Mike Weaver of Farwell; her children, Melisa Stothers of Lapeer, Larry Stothers, Lisa Stothers and Mark Smith, all of Georgetown, Fla., Crystal (Max Shott) Smith of Fairview and Jesse Smith of Georgetown, Fla. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren; her mother, Darlene Stothers of Shipshewana, Ind.; her stepchildren, Michael (Christy) Weaver of Farwell and Mathew (Angie) Weaver of Midland; her siblings, Theresa Schmucker, Denise Deschenes, Mark Stothers and Gary Stothers; and several nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father, John Stothers; and her siblings, Cynthia Morris and Kenneth, Sandra and John Stothers.

A funeral service in honor of Brenda will take place Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Farwell Chapel of the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Nestor officiating. Burial will follow in the Surrey Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with her family on Thursday, Aug. 31, at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

Memorial contributions in honor of Brenda may be made to a charity of the donor’s choosing. For those unable to attend, online condolences may be shared at www.stephenson-wyman.com.
