A gray four-door car and a blue pickup truck were involved in an accident near the intersection of M-33 and Cherry Creek Road Jan. 26.

MIO — No serious injuries resulted from an accident that occurred in Mio on the afternoon of Jan. 26.

According to Oscoda County Sheriff Kevin Grace, a two-vehicle accident was reported at about 4:35 p.m. on northbound M-33 past Cherry Creek Road, in front of Ray’s Mug & Jug.

Grace said upon arriving at the scene, Sheriff Department deputies determined that a 1997 Dodge Ram pickup truck, driven by a 23-year-old Mio man, was making a left-hand turn on M-33 when he turned in front of a northbound 2012 Ford Focus, driven by a 52-year-old Fairview woman.

According to Grace, the Fairview woman reported soreness and bruising, and was treated by Oscoda County Ambulance Department personnel at the scene and then released. He said both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Grace said the Mio man was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

Personnel from the Oscoda County Sheriff Department, the Oscoda County Ambulance Department, and the Tri-Town Fire Department responded to the scene of the accident.
